The process of in vitro fertilization (IVF) is a controversial and often expensive way to conceive a baby. In IVF, a woman’s eggs are retrieved and fertilized in a laboratory. The resulting embryos are then transferred into her uterus to try to create a baby. There are several different procedures used in IVF.
